Basic Life Support Training Course

This course is intended for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and allied personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and pre-hospital settings. IEFA is an approved and registered training provider for this course.
BLS is the foundation for saving lives. Participants will learn the skills of high-quality CPR and practise this as a single-rescuer and as part of a multi-rescuer team, with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Participants will also learn how to respond to choking emergencies for victims of all ages and to provide ventilation using resusci-aids, pocket masks, bag-valve-mask devices.
We use imported manikins (adult and paediatric) and ACTAR 911 CPR manikins in our practical CPR sessions.
For successful completion of the course, participants will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in CPR and AED use, and obtain a score of at least 84% in the final written assessment.

Course outcomes:
The purpose of this ‘AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers’ course is to enable participants to recognise, assess and manage an emergency requiring CPR and/or management of airway obstruction for victims of all ages and to do this effectively and efficiently.
